DAY ONE

DAY NUMERO UNO

Dear Parents/Guardians/Friends,
All the children are nestled all sweet in their beds, as thoughts of the White House dance in their heads! Our first day in DC went off without a hitch, and the memories (but not the cherry blossoms) have begun to bloom...

Daily-DC-Digest:

Annie and Abigail during our first rest stop
We set off at 6:30am, and around 10:00am the snow began to fall; It did not stop us, or our trusty bus drivers! We arrived a few minutes later than expected to our first stop, so we chose to cut out our time at the hotel.
Instead, we left more time to catch an IMAX movie, "Space Junk," at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. After the film, the chaperones lead their groups around the museum....

Then, we moved on to our next stop:

Dinner! We eat a lovely italian feast of garlic bread, salad, pasta, chicken parmesan, and last but certainly not least (did I mention it was not the least??

................................delicious cannoli!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From there, we went straight to the ghost walking tour. The tour seemed to be the highlight of the evening for most students, even through it was lightly drizzling out.

The students were intrigued by spooky stories which were laced with historical information. The students seemed to light up with excitement during the tour, and a few really came out of their shell! We are all exhausted from a very eventful day, and are looking forward to tomorrow. But now, the moment you have all been waiting for....

Happy kids at the Smithsonian!

Goodnight, from your friendly neighborhood Chaperones!

It was a pretty "sweet" day.

We give day one the "Mr. Rader Stamp of approval."

Until tomorrow,

- Ms. A
