DAY TWO!

DAILY-DC-DIGEST:

I write the daily digest as we all digest from a seafood
extravaganza at DC's own, "Phillips Flagship." Today was action packed with activities, including our trip to Mt. Vernon estate, and our tour of the Capitol! We got the 'inside scoop'  by touring in George Washington's house AND inside our nation's Capitol. We viewed a number of educational videos centered around George Washington, and the kids were excited to connect what they saw in the movie with what they viewed in the museums and the estate. Students were even able to view the river in Washington's backyard from his perspective while sitting on his  chairs.
After dinner at "Philips Flagship," the students went on an illuminated night tour of the washington monuments and memorials. The historical pieces shone bright under a plethora of spotlights, with some moonlight mixed in. Tomorrow afternoon, we will view the monuments and memorials in the daylight!

We've had a pretty awesome couple of days in Washington, and the students eagerly await the festivities to come!

Merry night to all and to all a good night!
